Estonian pianist Mihkel Poll makes his debut at Paris Philharmonic

Mihkel Poll, winner of Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition in Italy, the Tallinn International Piano Competition in Estonia and the Ferrol International Piano Competition in Spain, will perform for the first time at the Paris Philharmonic, on 14.12.2019. Together with Orchestre Pasdeloup under Elena Schwarz he will play Liszt's Totentanz.
In his last orchestra concerts Poll performed i.a. Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.3 [watch video recording] and Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1. His two specialties are romantic and Estonian repertoires. Mihkel Poll gave premiere of the Piano Concerto by distinguished Estonian composer Helena Tulve and performs the ones by Erkki-Sven Tüür and Edouard Tubin. Together with the Estonian National Philharmonic Orchestra under Neeme Järvi he recorded Artur Lemba's Piano Concerto No. 1 in G major, Op. 2 that will be released in February 2020.
