Linus Roth & Thomas Sanderling won ECHO Klassik 2017, welcoming Leonard Elschenbroich, Série Rose - opening of 2017/2018 season

Dear Friends,

welcome in the 2017-2018 season - we hope it will be full of inspiring projects and unforgettable musical moments for you!

The summer break was a very exciting one for us, as we learned that Linus Roth andThomas Sanderling won the ECHO Klassik award for their latest album recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, and including the Urtext verion of Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, as well as the Shostakovich Violin Concerto No.2! What is more, our artists' roster has expanded, as we welcomed Leonard Elschenbroich whom we will represent in Central and Eastern Europe.

Summer has been as exciting in terms of concerts, to mention Janusz Wawrowski's performance of the Panufnik Violin Concerto at the opening of Solidarity of Arts Festival in Gdańsk and four performances of violinist Anna Kwiatkowska and sultan hagavik duo at the Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music in Australia, among others! We were also pround to have our CEO, Stanisław Suchora, as guest curator of the Sound Gallery Series at this festival.

Série Rose premiered at three important festivals

The new project curated by Monika Pasiecznik and dealing with theme of sex and erotics in new music, Série Rose will be premiered at three important festivals: on18th September at Warsaw Autumn Festival, on 22nd September at the Klangspuren Festival in Innsbruck and on26th September at Sacrum Profanum Festival in Kraków.

SONORA will tour Série Rose during next years [more details here].

Janusz Wawrowski founds Warsaw String Players - premiere concerts at Spaces of Music Festival

Janusz Wawrowski, Polish violin virtuoso, Warner Classics and SONORA artist, has founded a new ensemble - Warsaw String Players. New chamber orchestra is composed of talented students and graduates of Warsaw music studies. Pre-premiere concert of the ensemble was broadcasted on Polish Radio – RDC. First concerts open to the public will take place as a part ofSpaces of Music Festival, to be held on 29th September - 1st October. The festival directed by Janusz Wawrowski will feature three concerts of the ensemble in Konin and Września. SONORA will operate this edition of the festival.

Mateusz Molęda conducts Nürnberger Symphoniker
 
Polish-German conductor Mateusz Molęda will conduct the Nürnberger Symphoniker orchestra twice: on29th September in Straubing and on 30th September in Sonneberg. The program of both concerts will feature Brahms' Violin Concerto, Mendelssohn "Reformation" Symphony, as well as a world premiere of piece by H. Ajax.

Łukasz Długosz performs Paweł Mykietyn's Flute Concerto

Poland's best flutist Łukasz Długoszwill perform Paweł Mykietyn's Flute Concerto, together with the Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Perry So. The concert will take place at the Szczecin Philharmonic, on 13th October 2017.

Leonard Elschenbroich performs Brahms with Nicola Benedetti and the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw

Leonard Elschenbroich will perform Johannes Brahms' Double Concerto, together with Nicola Benedetti and the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw, under the baton of Jacek Kasprzyk. Two performances are planned, on 13th and the 14th October 2017 at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.

Sonus ex Machina project and Festival launch

SONORA operates the new music festival, Sonus ex Machina to be held in Poznań, Poland on 27th-29th October. During two festival days, we will present the Zooming: Iran project by Sepia Ensemble, an electronic music concert by young Poznań-based composers and performers, as well as the world premiere of the Sonus ex Machina project, involving Japanese organist Mari Fukumoto and Polish composer and performer, Rafał Zapała. The festival is supported by the City of Poznań
