SONORA Artists in Poland keep playing in the country

We are glad that, despite their limited concert life, SONORA artists are willingly invited by excellent Polish orchestras.

Conductor Norbert Twórczyński, who was to be on tour in France with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz Orchestra in November, appeared as a substitute artist at the Szczecin Philharmonic. He conducted there the compositions by Nino Rota, Witold Lutosławski and Felix Mendelssohn.

On the eve of the closing of the concert halls to the public, Bartosz Koziak performed Joseph Haydn's Cello Concerto in D major at the Łódź Philharmonic. Anna Maria Staśkiewicz, on the other hand, performed with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice with the rarely performed Serenade by Leonard Bernstein.

Finally, in place of the cancelled performance, Janusz Wawrowski recorded Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Concerto with the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio. The effects will soon be available online.

Still before us is the online broadcast of a piano recital by Zygmunt Krauze from Stalowa Wola. On November 27, the composer and pianist will play a special concert as a part of the Young Musicians for a Young City 2.0 Festival. Krauze also chaired the jury of the first edition of the Young Musicians for a Young City composer's competition, which will permanently enter the calendar of cultural events in Poland and Europe.
