Wawrowski records lost Rozycki's Concerto with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Janusz Wawrowski's lucky streak continues. After receiving the second Polish Phonographic Fryderyk Award for his solo album (2017 and 2019), this only violinist playing on Polish Stradivari, will record in November the reconstructed Violin Concerto by Ludomir Różycki. Wawrowski invited the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Grzegorz Nowak to be part of the recording project.

After World War II, Różycki worked on the completion and reconstruction of many of his scores. Due to sudden death, he did not manage to finish the Violin Concerto, which became another "victim" of World War II. Years later, Wawrowski found the lost part of the score. Thanks to a grant from the Polish Institute of Music and Dance, the team led by Ryszard Bryła, reconstructed the Concerto.

The recording of this composition, together with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, will be released by Warner Classics in 2020. Earlier, Janusz Wawrowski will play the Concerto at the philharmonic halls in Łódź (27.09.2019) and Szczecin (13.12.2019). Moreover, on 10.09 the artist will perform Tchaikovsky's Concerto in the prestigious Elbphilharmonie with the Hamburger Symphoniker.

We cordially invite you to present the reconstructed Violin Concerto by Ludomir Różycki performed by Janusz Wawrowski in your concert halls and at festivals, as national premieres!
