Zygmunt Krauze presents new works:Declaration and Francesco

The premiere of Zygmunt Krauze's The Declaration for 14 instruments, two voices and electronics took place at the Sacrum Profanum Festival in Krakow. 70 years after the establishment of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and 100 years since Poland regained its independence, Krauze comments the condition of contemporary societies in his latest work.

Next world premiere of Krauze’s piece will take place in Gdańsk. Zygmunt Krauze composed his piece Francesco for organ and baroque ensemble, using the unique instrument which is the restored 400-year-old organ of Merten Friese. It will be performed on October 21 by Goldberg Baroque Ensemble.

Both works are co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the Composer's Commissions program, implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.

World premieres are part of Zygmunt Krauze’s 80th birthday celebrations.
